The DC Working Class History Seminar met at the Teamsters Labor History Research Center on Saturday, February 2, 2013.  The Seminar is a bi-monthly gathering of historians from the DC area and beyond who meet to discuss and critique drafts of articles or book chapters that participants are working on.  Generally two works are discussed.  Participants have the opportunity to read and reflect on the pieces ahead of time; at the meeting the authors give a general contextual introduction to their work with the participants then asking questions and offering ideas for clarification and improvement.  On February 2 the group discussed a draft book chapter on the Women’s Committee of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the AFL-CIO and a draft article on the fight against work-place smoking since the end of World War II.

Twenty historians participated in the February 2 gathering.
